4.3.2 Complication

Taken from William Kenney’s book, complication is a just as development to studies the conflict latent in the initial situation. So, it is a development to word climax latent in the initial.

Bill very disappointed with Leslie, and finally he decides to go to California alone. Narrated after Bill Thigpen arrives in California he threw himself into the show with a vengeance. He worked day and night, and sometime even slept on the couch in his office, as the rating continued to soar, and the show won innumerable daytime Emmys. In the seven years he had been in California, Bill Thigpen had become only slightly less manic. A Life Worth Living had become his pride and joy, his daily companion, his best friend, his baby. He had no reason to fight it any more. He let his work become his daily passion. The quotation bellow gives us information about the experience of life of Bill Thigpen when he is in California.

When he had first come to California, aching from the pain of leaving Leslie and the kids, he had fallen gratefully into the arms of a serious lady director, and had had an affair that lasted six months and almost led to disaster. She had moved in with him and taken over his life, inviting friends to stay, furnishing his apartment for him, running his life, until he left as if he had been strangled (P: 24)

The paragraph above gives us information that Bill fall in love with a girl, she is a lady director, but it just a links which intend just to be made for fun, because he wants to forget about his wife Leslie who was slander him.

More recently, Bill had gotten involved one of the actresses on the show, Sylvia a pretty girl from New York, and she had an important part on the show. And it was the first time in a long time that he had allowed himself the indulgence of getting involved with someone who actually worked for him. But she was a sensational-looking girl, and she had been hard to resist. She had come to the show via years as a child actress and model, the cover of the vogue, a year in Paris working for Lacroix, and six months in L.A. doing bit parts in an assortment of unsuccessful movies. She was a fairly decent actress, surprisingly enough, and a sweet girl, which came through on the air, and Bill was surprised himself by how much he liked her. Liked. Not loved. Love was something he reserved for Adam and Tommy his children’s who were, respectively, nine and a half and seven (P: 25).

The information above give us in sequence about other girls who have ever been closed with Bill Thigpen along he live in California, and what is going on after is only a links which intend just to be made for fun. Actresses, starlets, walk-ons, models, girls who wanted a good time when he was free, but he doesn’t love them, his love just for his boys, he more often enjoy his spare time with his boys when they visit him to California, because both of his boys stay with his ex-wife Leslie in New York, they come to visit him on alternate holidays and a month in a summer and he loved them more than ever but being three thousands miles away from them when he wanted to see them every day make him felt extremely painful. And there had been a parade of woman in his life, but the only his show to be his friend and the actors on it. And his lived just for his vocation with Adam and Tommy.
